Our mission is to find loving forever homes for strays and mistreated dogs. To promote awareness in animal welfare and prevent cruelty as well as educate the public about humane treatment of animals and encourage vet care and spay/neutering.


Christiane Dionne, MBA

Consulting, Executive Director

Christiane is passionate about animal advocacy, community development and proper training methods for our dogs at the rescue. You will often see her out in the field working our dogs or at the top of a mountain. In her spare time, Christiane advises clients on wellness initiatives and encourages financial freedom through entrepreneurial business endeavors. She currently shares her home with a Mastiff, Yellow Lab, Pitbull, and Golden Retriever.


Wendee Amero, ARNP

Emeritus Board Member

Animal advocacy is so important and has been part of Wendee’s life for close to 10 years. As one of the founding members, Wendee has made it her purpose to connect dogs with their furever families. Wendee is a Family Nurse Practitioner and continues to consult with our board in an Emeritus role.


Sandra Bonola, MBA

Sandy is a Business Consultant with a deep passion for animal welfare and rescue organizations. She has been involved in many capacities in rescues from fund raising to being a foster family. Her passion for animals was ignited by her best friend, Maximus, pictured here.  She is delighted to be joining the Board and looks forward to working along side the great team at Wags n Wiggles to continue to make the rescue a best-in-class operation!


Bruce Jasper, Esq.

Bruce is a well versed esquire who works locally in Newport and has been for more than 47 years! He joined Wags and Wiggles about a year ago and we are so honored. His hobbies include candlepin bowling and loves oldies music. Being part of the community is very important to Bruce and he shows it by being the chairman of his high school reunion committee, and is on the board of the Newport Rotary Club, Newport Senior Center and the Economic Corporation of Newport. We welcome Bruce to our team and look forward to coming together for more great things to come.

Sharon Miller-Dombroski

Sharon started with Wags and Wiggles as a consultant, but has since joined our rescue and has been an incredible addition. Sharon has been consulting with nonprofit organizations for nearly 30 years.  She joined the Wags and Wiggles Rescue Board in 2021, in an effort to make a difference for the community and for the animals in our care. Sharon lives with her family in Wilder, Vermont including their rescue dog Suri.
